Your train your will begin right in the heart Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city. The day is yours to relax and settle in. Perhaps take a leisurely stroll through the historic Old Town or enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the Bahnhofstrasse, one of the world’s most exclusive shopping avenues.

Take advantage of a relaxing day to delve deeper into Zurich’s rich cultural tapestry. Visit landmarks such as the Kunsthaus, one of the most important art museums in Europe, or take a leisurely cruise on the serene Lake Zurich. Experience the city’s dynamic blend of historical charm and contemporary buzz.

Today, hop on a scenic boat cruise across the tranquil waters of Lake Lucerne to Alpnachstad. From there, you’ll ascend Mount Pilatus using the world’s steepest cogwheel railway. At the summit, take in the panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Spend time exploring the mountaintop, enjoying lunch at a summit restaurant, or taking a short hike. The descent via aerial cableway to Kriens will complete your mountain adventure. Return to Lucerne with the evening free to relax or explore more of the city’s charming locales.

Board the GoldenPass Line this morning for a memorable train journey to Montreux. Travel through the stunning Swiss countryside, past chalets and along lake shores. In Montreux, known for its beautiful promenade lined with flowers, take the time to stroll along Lake Geneva and visit the Chillon Castle. Enjoy a relaxing evening along the shores of the lake before you settle in for the night.

Today, you’ll be exploring the south of Switzerland. The journey links two famous scenic routes: the GoldenPass and Glacier Express, making it a perfect culmination of your journey. The rail traces Lake Geneva’s eastern shore, ventures through vineyards near Aigle, and follows the Rhone River to Martigny, Sion, and the vast Pfyn-Finges nature park. After Visp, known for its sunny climate and charming Old Town, the train ascends through the Matter Valley to Zermatt where you’ll spend the night with views of the majestic Matterhorn.

On our tours, we want to adjust to your needs as much as possible. That’s why we use a few different accommodations with the same quality. The place of your stay depends on your preferences, budget and availability, especially if we travel during peak season. But don’t worry, we will inform you in advance of all the details!
Your accommodations mostly include breakfast. For other meals, we are aware that everyone has different preferences, which is why we have decided to give you a free hand in choosing restaurants so everyone can eat what they want. We can recommend some places to you, and if you would like to eat at a particular restaurant or try local delicacies, we can make a reservation for you – just let us know. One thing is for sure – you will not go hungry!
Our train tours include local, regional, long-distance and sleeper trains, depending on the tour. We firmly stand behind environmentally friendly travel and authentic experiences, and train travel on established routes is the perfect combination of both. Some of our tours might include special experiences, such as riding aboard a steam train where that is possible.
We strongly encourage you to arrive at the train stations at least 15-30 minutes before your departure time to avoid any potential mishaps. Some of the train tickets may be flexible, meaning the departure time is not tied to the ticket and you can hop on another train, however, that is not always possible.
